Oh God yes. She is the most annoying character ever. I hate how everything she says sounds like a question.

That's the Yorkshire accent (and lots of other northern English, Scottish, Northern Irish accents), love it or not.

I think we're all aware Daisy has a Yorkshire accent. Still annoying.

Gosh, it's almost as though the british portrayal of americans as boorish and provincial were true…

So you're saying that there are no annoying accents... at all? Not Long Island or Brooklyn or Minnesota or Alabama or cockney or even perhaps Yorkshire? What is with you? Can't people find certain accents irritating? I'm sure the British find many of the above accents to be terribly annoying.

Why weren't Rose's parents present at her coming-out ball?

They hate her and want her gone. Or they're in India or something.

I recall from the Scotland episode that she has a horrible relationship with her mother and her dad Shrimpy has been ruined by debt and moved to India.

Shrimpy adores his daughter.

Sorry, I'm such an anglophile that I can't broach any criticism of their accents. It's not fair to compare it to any annoying american accent. Americans are known worldwide to be nasally and loud.

The last couple episodes have reminded me of the first few when you really thought Mary was kind of awful-- to Edith and men.

Completely agree. She was her most human trying to save the pigs but in front of the men she's such an iceberg. I don't get the attraction.

Okay I am really annoyed that they tried to foist Mary's godfather, aka Lord Clueless and Boring, onto Isobel Crawley. She is destined for Dr Clarkson. Bring back Dr Clarkson!!!
