Genetics - brown/blonde babies

I was a dirty blonde as a baby and ended up with red hair in childhood and dark brown, almost black hair as an adult. My brothers were white blonde and ended up with dark brown hair, too.

DH is biracial with very dark skin and I am white, with brown-ish green-ish eyes. Both our children have clear blue eyes and skin pretty close to my color. A lot of people assume I've had an affair and those aren't DH's kids, I've actually been asked about it in front of the whole family.

Parents: Born-blonde (darkened to medium brown) and redhead.

2 kids: Both born with dark hair. Both lightened to blonde within a few months. One now dark blonde, the other light blonde.

Had a neighbor whose mom was a blonde blue eyed caucasion. Father was full blood Japanese. The neighbor was 5'9" blonde, blue eyes, light skinned.

She married a caucasion with dark hair and eyes. One kid was blonde, blue eyes. One looks 3/4 Asian-a throwback to her grandfather, but with green eyes.

Weird stuff.
