Oh sweetie. People asking who’s the 2e parent are subtly shading you and saying that you’re not smart. |
No they are not, FFS. It's just that the situation OP is experiencing and the advice people would offer is different depending on which parent or both is ND. |
Don't be a jerk. This woman is in a crisis. |
No, we’re wondering what the genetics are and where the other parent is. Obviously the other parent, and half the genetics, has some real anger, abuse, and addiction issues at a minimum. |
This. Did he ever have an IEP or if not, could you get him one now for the new school year? Is he actually diagnosed with something a therapist could work with? Get the support in place then look for colleges that have programs/services for students with disabilities. https://childmind.org/article/are-there-any-colleges-with-good-services-for-kids-with-adhd/ And try to break the “it’s never my fault” blame game. If he has an alarm clock that works, it’s HIS FAULT he’s late to school, for example. If he has folders to put his assignments in and he chooses not to use them, it’s HIS FAULT he’s late lost his work. Don’t let that shitty line of thinking further metastasize. |
