Those places cost $200-300 per person. Why on earth would you do that when you can just comb your child's hair with a nit comb every day for a week? Do a search here for Lice Lady AMA, it was by far the best most informative post I've ever read on DCUM. I bought the comb she recommended and would comb my kids' hair in the bathtub once a month or whenever I saw them scratching their head in preschool. They both have had lice, but we caught and treated it both times. |

I used to think so also, but apparently lice is a big thing in the DC area now. It was basically erradicated in the US until recently. |
