The$$ was collected from DC taxes - the feds refused to authorize DC to spend it - it was not Federal money we need their authorization to spend our money - not making excuses for Bowser whose behavior with the mystery memo that she won't disclose as to how MPD is supposed to act or not act is terrible, but the mayor's office has no control over the budget authorization by congres

Seems like the very least Bowser could have done was warn the public that the White House was spreading carcinogens in the air, in an area where there are tens of thousands of people every day. The Bowser folks knew immediately this was happening. They send people over to take pictures of the project as soon as it began.

By the time anyone knew what was going on, the damage was already done.

If DC doesn't have jurisdiction (though it does), it sort of begs the question of why Bowser didn't warn the public that Trump was ignoring every environmental regulation on the books with the destruction of the East Wing.
