I’m sorry, I don’t think you understand what it means to be a “mean girl.” You could have used NCS. I said, don’t believe gossip, NCS is often maligned on here, it’s a good school, Holton is a good school, the skirts are ridiculous. That’s not meanie boo boo. Those are simple facts.

A fact would be “the skirt falls one inch below my daughter’s crotch” and an opinion would be “that is too short and I don’t like it” or “that’s length is fine and doesn’t bother me.”

It is so so odd that rather than be like, yeah, the skirts that are 3 inches long are not school appropriate you insist on justifying it. Crazy. Clearly the administration hasn’t bothered to enforce the rule re skirt length- they should. This has been going on for years. Many in and out of the school community have noticed. Enforce the rule!

What posters are hitting on is the deflecting, denial and justifications most Holton parents have displayed when issues are raised about the school. Any post re issues at other schools, parents often agree. The insistence that this isn’t an issue is silly, and isn’t helping your cause.

Some classes are filled with delightful kids, some are infested by mean girls, and you just never know.

I must have misunderstood your statement that “No reasonable person could have an opinion that the skirts are normal school attire. So, ergo, not an opinion.” It seemed like you might need a couple examples of fact vs. opinion.

I, for one, am of the opinion that Hilton girls wear their skirts stupidly short and look terrible. I am also aware that is actually an opinion, however.

I would like to know more about the head as a “polarizing” figure. I would also like to know more about the teachers. If so many have left, how are the replacements? Also, I went to the open house but it was such a dog and pony show (why does every school bring their chorus to sing?).

Ok, if you want to hear gossips about the hos and you say that the open house was a dog and pony show, then probably you don’t need more information. You have enough information to make a decision, unless of course you enjoy the trolling.
