Fourth grade chrome books in school

FYI— you can refuse authorization for your child to use Chromebook or iPads in any public elementary school. The only thing you cannot avoid is doing the standardized testing three times a year on it. I don’t think you can get around that. My child is the only one in his class of 27 who does not use a Chromebook, which is completely shocking to me, considering how much we know now about the damaging effects of Ed Tech in K through 12.

Does he use his own device instead? If not, how does he participate? They take their reading tests on it too in my kid's class and use it throughout the day (unfortunately)

Really? In FCPS we were told we could decline some programs like MyOn and YouTube but had to do Lexia, ST Math, and whatever pointless google docs/slides presentations that kids were assigned. We eventually left for private.

You can absolutely refuse. It’s in my child’s 504, which virtually any student can obtain. The research supports ZERO tech in elementary schools.
