They are on meet mobile.

Will probably be on NVSL tomorrow. I’m sure folks are busy cleaning up. It was a mess after the rain.

You can't swim in a pool without power. Filter has to be on and running.

Power was back in at 8

That couldn't have been predicted and NVSL needed to make a decision. If they had waited longer and power was still out, people would be criticizing them for not calling the meet sooner.

This. The people that run these leagues and events can’t win with the armchair quarterbacks no matter what they do.

Not to mention the people who run these leagues are volunteers. They devote a lot of time and evergreen to the NVSL. The last thing they wanted was to cancel the meet. But you can’t win.as people listened to WTOP issuing flats flood wirings I heard grumbling as to why they didn’t immediately cancel and send people home to safety as soon as the delay started.

They did a great job keeping people safe this year. So much better than last year. My kids are bummed the meet was canceled, but I think they made the smart call.

I vote for weekday morning meet!!

For those complaining I think you meant to say thank you to Franconia Park. They gave up their pool to hold this event and just got screwed on potential profits on concessions. I agree the NVSL needs to consider an earlier start to the meet (like 10 am) but don’t be jerks about the weather or decisions that were made

Host ASR mid day- the obvious and logical choice

Get done before the thunderstorms

Planning ahead!

So long Bob York- finally retired, years late

Your yammering to slow up the meet progress will not be missed

His commentary was happening during the races not in between them…didn’t slow things down a bit

Also, it's summer swim. In the big picture, it really isn't all that important.

Of course it's just a meet ... but some of the kids were really excited about it. Not everyone swims year round or is in Champs or whatever. For some of them, this IS the big meet of the year. We had a group of 4 kids who are each just outside the individual all star cut time - it's unlikely that any of them will make IAS, but together their relay time was good enough to get them into this meet, and they were thrilled to be there. None of them compete outside of summer swim. Or course they'll survive without it, but it's also reasonable for them to be disappointed. You can sympathize with those kids even if it's not a big deal to you personally.

I swear last year was announced as his last and was surprised to see him in ‘the chair’ yet again?!

Totally agree! My kids swim year round and almost all will go to PVS champs. One less weather chaotic ASR I don’t have to attend. The truth is, nearly all the officials on deck tonight work PVS meets, too, and wouldn’t be available to work a Sunday ASR meet.

Did 11-12 boys get to swim?

11-12 boys medley teams swam. 11-12 boys freestyle relays did not swim.
