I haven’t mentioned FA at all, twit. |
I think Taylor Swift has a lovely voice. I like it because it’s natural and she isn’t pretending to be anything that she’s not.
I mean, did Bob Dylan have a good voice? Stevie Nicks? No. |
Haha Arethra Franklin sure didn't think so: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzPpZwSDcRo&pp=0gcJCdgAo7VqN5tD I find her songs (yes, even the ones with the lyrics copied and pasted above) to be trite and boring. But they're better than most pop songs and I'm guessing that's what most of her fans are comparing her to. |

My precious thoughts like butterflies, crumple under your black skies…. Lyrical genius. |
I love her lyrics and her voice. |
It’s odd then that Taylor talks about wearing masks, being a shape shifter and duplicitous in her interactions with people that you believe she is “natural and not pretending to be anything she is not.” Why are her feelings about herself so different than your feelings about her? |
She has some very clever turns of phrase and lyrics seem to just pour out of her. She has a knack for storytelling and world-building. She’s an okay songwriter and with better co-writers and good producers she puts out decent albums. Bad singer and worse dancer.
She seems to be a very hard worker. She has a certain grit and persistence which is rare, I think. Her parents are the geniuses for building the Taylor Swift brand and assembling the powerhouse team that is responsible for the success of the business. |
lol Aretha ;0) I agree that Whitney was a rare talent. Whitney’s voice was far superior to Aretha and everyone else. Whitney could go bold and strong as well as delicate and soft—and everything in between. But Whitney didn’t write or dance. She just sang amazingly well. Taylor writes music, plays an instrument, and performs. That’s different from pop princesses—even talented ones like Whitney. |
I think the Beatles are overrated. I dislike a lot of their drugged-out era music. It would be fine with me if I never had to listen to Hey Jude again. The Beatles were a cultural phenomenon. So is Taylor Swift. |

I always ruminate about entertainers I can't stand and continue to post about them online so that everyone knows how much I don't like them. Totally normal behavior. |
