It is true though, that the democrats see value in having immigrants come to the US. It expands our economy, it improves the base of available labor and frankly, the immigrants work harder and are more willing to do jobs that native born Americans simply won't do.

The US is being far more generous in its laws than required by the 'international law' on refugees.
This law says you only have to consider cases when you are the first safe country this person reached. Most of these 'refugees' should be applying in Mexico or elsewhere, and are not eligible under 'international law' to apply in the US.
Of course these refugees are fake, and are really just using asylum law as a loophole to get in. Once Trump shut down the loopholes, many returned to the same country they were allegedly fleeing.
