Uh, irony alert! Remember MAGA doesn’t believe in quarantine. Now, we have a preventable disease that requires it. This admin can’t solve the problem because RFK said in the cabinet meeting today that this was a nothingburger. That’s pathetic! |
genuinely want to understand how did we get to this point in this country. In particular I would like to hear from our Ivy league educated MAGAs because they do exist..we focus so.much on the "low educated" MAGAs, but they are the least harmless to this country. The highly educated MAGAs and they are many of them are the ones that worry me. These are the ones who have the skills to come up with the policies to implement MAGA. But for some reasons we keep insulting the lowered educated MAGAs |
The Ivy League educated MAGAs are soulless grifters. They only care about enriching themselves even if it means dead kids. |
RFK Jr is such a morally challenged drug addled disgrace. It’s a shame he’s our nation’s chief medical officer with no medical credentials to speak of. Oh well. First measles death in more than a decade on his watch.

Kennedy Jr., the nation’s top health official and a vaccine critic, said Wednesday that the U.S. Department of the Health and Human Services is watching cases and dismissed the Texas outbreak as “not unusual.” He appeared to misstate a number of facts, including a claim that most who had been hospitalized were there only for “quarantine.” Dr. Lara Johnson at Covenant contested that characterization. “We don’t hospitalize patients for quarantine purposes,” said Johnson, the chief medical officer. Kennedy also seemed to misspeak in saying two people had died of measles. A spokesman — Andrew Nixon, for the Department of Health and Human Services — later clarified that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has identified only one death. |

Well, I do feel sorry for the innocent child. But my point is that this isn't about "them getting what they deserve," it is about the totally innocent outsiders (like the last woman to die of measles in this country) who gets it from the anti-vaxxer families. |
So yeah, 2019 we had a large number of cases, mostly in NYC, among the Orthodox Jewish population. There were around 600-700 cases and no deaths. |
So honestly if we are already at 1 death, with only about 200 measles cases? Either this is a worse strain of measles... or medical care in Texas isn't so great. |
I'm sure they will only track deaths but not how many children go blind from measles infections. |
This is tragic. And the death is on the child's parents, MAGA, RFK Jr, and the anti-vax/alt right.
Worse, I think I heard it's two deaths of innocent children now. And RFK JR is just unbothered like "oh, that's normal". F--- these people for lacking humanity. |
And those who get encephalitis. |
Both. And I'm sure these parents didn't bring the child into the hospital until it was too late. |
This. I totally agree with you. And you are not exaggerating when you say there are a handful of highly educated and accomplished ivy league educated MAGAs. And I think this what makes the MAGA movement so successful. It's powered by well accomplished and wealthy folks who have the money, intellect, drive and know how to help this movement. Unfortunately capitalism drives people to be greedy. We are very greedy. And sadly some of us are so driven by greed that we lose our sense of purpose and compassion. Deep inside Democrats know this is one of the challenge they are facing. The folks who should know better are the ones driving the train. It makes the Democrats seem powerless but it's more complicated than that. |
