Black Americans have said all over social media they’re sitting it out. 1/ they didn’t create this mess, and 2/ the police will use them to declare martial law. I’ve seen dozens of people online say that’s why they’re sitting it out, FYI. I’m sure Black DCUM can weigh in.

The same folks who who voted in the 2018 midterms to give Dems control of the House will do the same in 2026 and the same 80 million folks that voted against Trump in 2020 will do the same in 2028. Stop overthinking things. This is the exact same scenario that played out during Trump's 1st term. Trump's approval ratings are quickly sagging to the pitiful Trump/Biden 40% threshold and we all know that level of disapproval means disaster up and down the party ticket.

If a Bush, Reagan, Romney, McCain or any other normal GOP politician from the past was in office, there would be reason for concern. Trump is very giving to the opposition party when he is in office. We've been here before. Act like it.

People voted against Biden in 2024 to give Trump The White House just like they voted against Trump in 2018 and 2020 to give Dems control of the House and White House. Guess who is POTUS now? That's right. Cycle of unpopular presidents continues bringing Dems success in 2026 and 2028. Stop overthinking everything. A sitting POTUS with a 40% approval rating is a death sentence to their party. We've been here before. Act like it.

Black and brown people are extra afraid. I'm not even the "wrong kind of brown person", and it made me horribly nervous just to travel overseas, although I am a US citizen. We have targets on our backs, so until things improve, most of us are keeping our heads down and working in ways that don't bring attention to ourselves.

I don't blame them one bit. What we are seeing day to day in this presidency is NOT normal and Americans need to WAKE up!

I will repeat myself like a broken record in every election thread. We cannot assume we will be voting or that our votes will count in the next election.

There is a concerted effort around the coutnry (See NC, Texas, WI, the SAVE act eg.,) to make voting incredibly difficult.

While candidates are important, we need to be able to vote and to have our votes count.

Don't assume they will.
