So what's your rationale for why the majority of white women (including myself) voted for Trump?
And no, I didn't cower to my husband. He's far more to the left than I am.
And I'm college educated to boot.

Amy number of reasons;

You don’t trust yourself or woman in power and want to have a daddy figure telling you want to do because it makes you more comfortable

You believed trump will help your business or help you economically

You want people deported even though you use their services all the time- from your produce to your lawn service to your nails

You are Christian and pro life and never had your life in jeopardy due to pregnancy issues so you think you are immune

You believe in RFKs crazy and want the pure healthy life you were painted by him
Tell us, why did you vote for trump?

This is so demeaning and ridiculous. I don't trust a woman in power? Really? What about all the super red conservative states that have had female governors, how do you explain that?

I'm not a Christian, I'm an atheist - and although marginally pro-choice (in reality I hate that term) I do have moral qualms about abortion and have no problem with Roe v. Wade being overturned and the decision going back to the states, although abortion is never something I base my vote on.

And no, I'm not into RFK's health beliefs and even got vacinated for Covid without hesitancy.

I do not like Trump, but I hate the crazy anti-common sense idiocracy that the left has morphed into and I finally couldn't stomach it anymore.

Actually, this is way worse than anything I wrote. Much more ridiculous.

In a fit of anger, you voted for more tariffs, worsening economic reality, against health care/medicaid, worsening health care for women (already in place in many states), forcing laborers out of the country and to lose social security benefits for many.

You also, in this angry state voted for a felon and rapist.

And you found my reasons demeaning.

DP. You have serious issues that I suggest you take care of before hurling insults at others and accusing them of being "angry." Look in the mirror.

To me it's gaslighting to hear men claim that colleges are indoctrination centers and that young women are radicalized and need to be deprogrammed.

It's like the social media pundits on the right have successfully learned how to DARVO, turn it all around, deny centuries of women having no rights, and women are believing it.

I have not seen one article or interview or heard one podcast that said just women are being indoctrinated at some colleges. It has always been college students (women AND men) mentioned. Where did you get the idea that women were being singed out?

I feel sorry for the young daughters of Trump voters.

Why. They will have successful careers and your daughters will be their nannies because you have encouraged their victimhood.

So true. Or baristas once they realize their Gender Studies degree didn't get them very far.

Trad wife isn’t a career, dear.

It was for my grandmothers, and mother, and MIL. And it was a pretty nice gig too.

Wow the existence of this post completely proves OP’s point.

You haven't figure out that lots of women find it more satisfying to focus on home matters and child-rearing, than working 40+ hours a week, being chronically exhausted and only getting to spend about 2 hour a night with their kids?

If anything, I think the election was sort of a backlash against the societal changes that have happened with more women having gone to college and pursue the types of careers that were traditionally reserved for men. A lot of young voters were raised in households where both parents worked long hours and maybe didn’t spend as much time with them. Let alone the stress and exhaustion of trying to do it all. Maybe those young people are looking at the whole thing and saying “that isn’t worth it… maybe we are all better off going back to a more so-called traditional family structure.” They may perceive Republicans as making them feel like that is ok and should be celebrated, whereas they may perceive Democrats as making women feel like a failure if they don’t exercise their rights to be on equal footing with men career wise.

I’m not saying I agree with this, it just seems like there is something like that going on with young people. I am college educated and work full-time but I put myself on a track where I am paid less and have not achieved as much as many of my peers. The trade-off is I am not as stressed out and have more time for parenting and household tasks. I think there’s been a feeling building for a while that “having it all“ is BS. and maybe the young people are making choices accordingly.

"Having it all" - at least, all at one time, is indeed BS. I subscribe to the view that there are different seasons to life. Not everything has to be accomplished all at once. And hopefully, my kids will internalize that as well.

The OP's entire premise is simply a transparent ploy to pick a fight. No evidence, no citations, just a broad, clearly fictionalized claim.

OKay, but I”m confused- what insults did I make?
Saying the post was ridiculous and she voted out of anger? It is pretty clear she did. Saying “I can’t stomach it anymore.” Pretty much conveys disgust and anger.

I didnt’ realize saying ridiculous and demeaning was an insult and even if you consider it to be, I was parroting back the PP’s words.

Are you the OP? This entire thread is based on some weird claim that you can't even back up. What a waste of time.

Deprogramming? Where have I heard that before? Oh, right here on DCUM when everyone thought it was funny when Hillary Clinton said it. Not so funny now, huh?

Most of the women in my circle personally are with men who are at least 8 to 10 years older than they are.

They love Trump

These women are terrified of being forced to switch roles with men.

However I don't understand them at all. They are essentially already doing the job of both a husband and a wife, a mother and a father, even married.

They work and contribute money to the household. Their husbands spend the money on his new toys, like a big truck, model airplane, or a boat, or wave runner, or four wheeler. The men couldn't afford their toys. They couldn't afford a surrogate or adoption to have children, or a paid s#x worker, and a maid, and a cook, and a chauffeur. And a personal assistant.

Yet, I unfortunately heard a man like Adam Corolla say that he won't listen to his wife complain about him being a top 5 worst husband when she lives in an 8000 square foot house. And then he joked about a worst husband would be one who uses a belt to beat the bit#$. Corolla and his ilk think we're just supposed to know that he and Trump and other men are just joking! It's just a joke! Don't be so sensitive.

At 8:18 Adam Corolla talks about getting into an argument with a woman. How can a man Adam's age, a GenXer, not realize how ignorant he sounds to tell a woman she should be happy because he doesn't pay hands on her or beat her?

That's the threshold now. If a man doesn't beat you, be grateful women.

I don't know why these shows are appearing on my news feed. I don't watch them.

Poor little men folk feel threatened by over educated women cause they don't know their place. Womin's don't need education to be doing what God put them here to do birthing babies, cooking their man's dinner, cleaning up after them and, most important, no sass or back talk!

Find yourself a real man ladies. For every one of these poor little men folk there is a real man out there.

I don't think it's a woman thing. I think it's a class thing. Combined with the ridiculous priorities of progressive wealthy students. They march for Gaza, but they don't do anything for the things that matter for middle class Americans. Useless rich girls. And I think that leads to some resentment for people who are dealing with health insurance, affording rent, paying for groceries, and so on. Progressive interests have nothing to do with most families in America.
