There is no "data". This figure comes from a NY Post story that quotes estimates by a couple of unnamed MPD officers and refers specifically to crime in midtown Manhattan (https://nypost.com/2024/09/02/us-news/migrants-flooding-nycs-justice-system-making-up-75-of-arrests-in-midtown-as-pathetic-sanctuary-city-laws-handcuff-cops/). This story probably belongs in the same basket as the nonsense about migrants eating pets in Springfield, OH.

Dare to say that not going the mini-primary route in favor of what was deemed to be the safe option was a colossal mistake. The whole case for Kamala was predicated on turnout among black voters.

Pretty large chunks of black and Latino voters drifting away from Harris per the recent polls. Add to that whatever is going on with Muslims in Michigan. Will be interesting to see what happens. Trump is senile and crazy. So I guess it’ll be Vance and the Project 2025 people running things if Trump wins. I mean, on the one hand, if they can stem illegal immigration, renew the Trump tax cuts, stop trying to cancel student debt, and give a big F U to the pro Palestinian protesters, I’m not opposed to those things at all. My main areas of concern are for our international alliances, spiraling debt and entitlements (not that Ds would be any more responsible on those either) and the Supreme Court. I’m not a working class black or Latino or Palestinian in MI, so can’t speak to why they’re drawn to Trump. There’s probably some crossover with the things I’ve noted that I’d be in favor of. But also think some of g the em are deeply wrong on what would happen economically speaking. Like, if Trump actually implements any of the economic policies he’s espoused, inflation will come roaring back, agriculture and construction will collapse (since he’s planning to deport all those workers) and we’ll get slammed with another recession. Not sure how that will be beneficial to working class minorities but whatever. Sometimes people just want to burn it all down and I think that’s where we are right now. We haven’t hit bottom yet.
