He IS fat, its not a fat suit.

But he deliberately gained weight for the show.

No he did not. He is just fat and happy with his similarly chubby wife.

Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb
In a recent interview with TheWrap, Gary Oldman discussed the liberating experience of portraying Jackson Lamb in Slow Horses. Oldman openly acknowledged undergoing a weight gain for the role, emphasizing the transformative impact this had on his portrayal of the character, along with discussing his weight-gaining diet. In Slow Horses, Lamb is depicted as crasser and "less disciplined," showcasing a departure from the cerebral spy archetype.

There's a clip from the interview, he's not fat in the clip

Its a good story. He is still fat now.

DP. No, he isn't.

Bottom photo is Gary Oldman now, fat belly and chins still in situ. Top photo of Gary Oldman in his 40s.

I’m aware the bottom photo is present day - and he’s not fat. He just has a beard. Body/legs are all normal.

Just keep telling yourself that.

Here's video from when he was knighted in September.

Can you summarize it? I can’t remember what he said and don’t want to go back and rewatch, if possible.

Wikipedia: Ep 3 (ep title is "Tall Tales") Lamb shares an anecdote about an agent who, alongside his pregnant lover, was brutally tortured by the Stasi, all for information he ultimately did not know. The other Dogs are captivated by the story, allowing River, Shirley and Coe to disarm and restrain them.
Afterwards he says he made it up.

Very end of the series you realize he didn't.

I thought River's grandfather really would have had pertinent info when River hung up on him or wouldn't take his call. It turned out in a way he did, but River wouldn't have caught it at the time anyway.

And a 6th season--Yay!

I can't remember exactly which books I've read, but looking it up there's definitely 4-5 I haven't.

One weird thing--I hadn't watched season 5 until the past couple of weeks, yet when the paint bucket falls on Gimball's head I would have sworn I had actually seen it. All I can think is that they do the series so well what I saw on the screen coincided perfectly with the memory of the book--even though I can't remember which book it was and couldn't have recited the plot this long after reading it.
