Cub scout vs girl scout

It really depends on the pack. One girl in our scout pack tried 2 other packs before finding the right fit and now she loves it.

+1 Don't hesitate to shop around. The social vibe, and activities, can vary quite a bit by den or troop.

Yes but at least one of the troop leaders has to be a woman.

This generation of dads is doing such a better job stepping up and we have tons of male troop leaders in our area. I’m not actually sure PP is right that one leader must be a woman but if you are doing overnights you’ll need at least two unrelated females to sleep in the same area as the girls — men can’t sleep in the same area unless you are doing family camping.

I am PP, and I am a GS troop leader. It's in the rules - you need two troop leaders per troop, and one must be a woman.

Op here. DD is in girl scout, and she insists that she wants to join cub scout as well. Since her older brother is already in cub scout, it is fine for me to take them both to pack meeting. The problem is the separate den meeting, it maybe quite challenging. Her girl scout is full, once she leaves, she will not be able to allow to come back to the same troop. I have been more involved to volunteer in her girl scout for more different types of activities. The cub scout always need more kids to join. DH tells her that she can only pick one, not both.
