The democratic convention could make money by advertising as a freak show and letting paying customers do a walkthrough.

Projection, projection.
MAGAS are screeching because the “weird Trump” thing is resonating. For good reasons.

I am always surprised at how normal the people at the republican convention look vs the people who attend the democratic convention.

For all the talk of republicans being unhealthy fast food eaters- republicans at the convention are for the most part slim/regular looking folks.

Democrats have the obese people, who need haircuts, and look like they are unwashed. -independent

It’s one reason people see shades of Nazis in the movement.

I remember when your side called Reagan a Nazi. And Bush. And Bush Junior. And McCain. And Romney. The mental math is always I don’t like this person, and I don’t like Nazis. This person is therefore a Nazi.

Meh, does that always surprise you, "independent"?

Isn't it your Russian allies that called everybody Nazis to justify a war? That's a weird argument you're making. Very on-brand as such, though.

Whether they are "slim/regular" or not, look at the people who attend the rallies.

I’ve got little patience with “narratives” and spin from the left …. but yes Trump and Vance are weird. That is accurate. Vance especially. There’s something off with the elite trad men so very interested in patrolling other people’s family/personal lives. They invariably have some kind of deep interpersonal issue. Dreher, Douhat, Vance, etc.

Trump well - he’s just sui generis and weird all on his own vector.

I actually do think the “weird” thing is sticking. My apolitical 16 year old son said when Vance came on TV “oh that’s the weird guy”. Mostly he cares about soccer and video games. So he is not consuming news or anything

That’s actually a terrifying connection. You’re not completely wrong.

It's not an improvement. Americans are going to ignore "weird" as well. They just don't care about it. They're interested in the top of the ticket and the policies.

If Project 2025 reflects Trump's future policies, then everything written by former Obama and Biden officials, as well as every Democrat think tank, must be attributed to Harris.

You ... know JD Vance wrote the forward to the Project 2025 book, right? That's not even arms-length distance. And if Trump didn't know that was coming out when he selected him to be his right hand man -- good lord, how incompetent is that?

Nice goalpost shifting AND sidestep there. Now it's Vance instead of Trump (and by the way, has Vance come out and said that he's going to adopt Project 2025 if he and Trump win?).

Also, I guess you agree that everything that is written by a Democrat think tank is Harris' policy if she (or her soon to be VP pick) have their name attached to it in any way, shape, or form - right?

Nice deflection. The Project 2025 thing isn't making positive news for you guys right now. It's just going to get worse since it's clearly an identified sore spot.

I’m pretty sure that any large gathering of Americans includes people who are mostly overweight or obese.

I'm guessing you've never been to it, then. I have (for work, not because I'm in politics), and it was a bunch of completely normal looking people. I didn't notice any pervasive weight issues. There were kind of a lot of black and brown people there, though - is that what you found so weird? I guess it would be, compared to the GOP.

Ha ha. The GOP is not happy about the weird thing. Because they know it resonates with people. Vance and Trump are total weirdos!

Actually it's not. Only on DCUM is it. Biden and other Democrat leaders pushed the Project 2025 narrative a few weeks ago. It's out of the news cycle.

Except this group actually are Nazis. And you have no idea what “side” I am on.
