I used to be more sympathetic to poor people. I have no patience for people who spend beyond their means and get into debt. I live frugally to save and shouldn’t have my tax dollars pay for others’ poor choices. In hearing them talk, they say things they shouldn’t have to live like beggars, yolo and drinking a daily Starbucks won’t make a difference. I’m sorry but if you are getting handouts, then you better be dressed in rags and have no asserts left. |
So curious what was so good about those years. People say that but they never have an actual answer. |

Growing up w/parents who hated cats 🐈…..
So of course I grew up hating cats. I still remember whenever my Father saw a cat on our backyard fence, he would immediately turn on the hose, then spray it!!? 😡 How barbaric that seems to me today. Anyway as a Single Mother living in an apartment later on, my children wanted a pet. We did goldfish, hamsters + mice but they wanted something to cuddle up with. It didn’t make sense to live in an apartment w/a barking dog so we got a cat. Then another one so the first one wouldn’t get lonely. Lol. I took excellent care of these two kitties & they both lived to be about eighteen yrs. each. Nowadays I just LOVE love cats. |
1) Wild horses. When I was a little girl I loved “wild” horses. Now I realize they’re feral and poorly managed by bad federal policy. We should be using euthanasia and sterilization to humanely eliminate them. The mustang adoption program is a farce.
2) “Adopt don’t shop.” This is a nice idea but in practice it’s just propping up southern states without appropriate spay neuter laws and creating a stigma against intentional breeding that makes it harder to create a responsible market for family pets. I’m all for rescue dogs - I’ve had three. But the “adopt don’t shop” advocacy is harmful, and making it easier for Cletus to breed backyard pitbulls by placing them in suburban homes is stupid. |
Yes, but not something I'm exposing to the ridicule of atheist DCUM. Also a lot of reading, CS Lewis and Evelyn Waugh (which I had to order because these books aren't even carried by my public library.) |
I understand. |
DP. Welcome home |
hello, twin. +1 to all three of these! |
I’m the Catholic light poster and reading CS Lewis actually made me believe less and he supports gay marriage. |
Born and raised in Montgomery County. Always lived in Montgomery County and worked in DC. Thought I had the best of both worlds. Now, I can’t wait to move out of Montgomery County. Never thought I would feel that way. The crime and the liberal policies are out of control. I’m not a Republican…but there’s a limit. |
I agree somewhat about weed. It should be legalized, but controlled in the same way alcohol is controlled. Stuff like Delta 8 is wrecking lives, I've seen it in action. Also I'm sick of the Fedex folks reeking of it, although that's a personal peeve that someone else might compare to perfume reeking. Re guns, I disagree completely. We need fewer, not more guns. Because you cannot magically restrict guns to "decent, law-abiding persons," whatever that even means. |
You should stay where you are. I bet you’ll still vote Democrat wherever you end up. You are like locusts. |
Prenups and paternity testing. I understand the need for both now that I'm older but would've flipped out at the thought when I was younger. |
