My kid wears amazon dupes of the lulu shorts and loves them. Bonus that they come in kid sizes that are slim enough for her. |
Name the public school where a “huge critical mass” of parents agreed to no phones in middle school, or it didn’t happen. |
DP but I'm guessing it's the Wait Until 8th Pledge (which would be 10% of a grade at a school, so YMMV if that's huge) and you can look those schools up online. |

I have no idea, I'm not that poster. But I'm inclined to believe her. More than a few areas around the country are seeing the issues with phones for middle schoolers and are not okay with making that trade off just for social reasons. But I don't live there, though my kid isn't getting a phone until later this summer before the start of 9th. |
+1 Similar experience. |
Swap Dick’s for H&M and same for my kid. |
Yeah 10% is not a critical mass by any reasonable definition. |
Right? And Abercrombie is geared towards younger millennials now. https://retailwire.com/discussion/how-did-abercrombie-become-cool-with-millennials/#google_vignette |
My DD is in 7th and she buys her clothes from Aerie and Hot Topic.
She wouldn’t be willing to wear Nike, Lululrmom etc. You really need to know your DD’s “aesthetic” as the kids say! |
I think its funny that you think there is a meaningful distinction between Aerie and Lululemon. Its all athleisure. |

I think part of the issue is that some posters are in Fairfax where their 6th graders are still in elementary school, and many of us have 7th graders who have now been in middle school almost two years. The idea of my daughter wearing a Cat & Jack graphic tee is bizarre. |
We also have a rising 7th grader and I started to think about wardrobe upgrade for her this past week. She’s on the younger side and not into fashion or makeup like some of her classmates do. She won’t wear top that’s tightly fitted or cropped or sexy, no tight short neither. I got DD some Athleta skorts and under Armour top, some casual floral dresses, and plan to get some more plain sport tee. |
The kids know. Whether they prefer Lululemon or don't like it. |
