Kristi Noem shot a puppy for being untrainable as a hunting dog

Anonymous
The story has some gaps. So the young dog/puppy was amped up during the hunt and then Noem brought the dog off leash to a farm with chickens running around? Why would you do that when you just saw the dog amped up during the hunt?

Then the young dog/puppy went after the chickens and then Noem got mad - she indicated she hated the young dog/puppy and shot the dog in a gravel pit.

Her daughter returned home from school and asked where the dog, Cricket, was. So the dog was a pet to her daughter?

And Noem decided to kill a goat because it was mean and smelled.

And she wrote about this in a book like it showed she could “do hard things.” Is this a campaign narrative that wins elections?

Probably not great for inspiring VP to admit to this in an election year.

"inspiring" was probably not what you intended.

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2024/apr/26/trump-kristi-noem-shot-dog-and-goat-book

And the kids get off the school bus and say "where's cricket?"

apparently none of them yells "what happened to the goat??!!"

Holy smokes, she shot the dog and then just decided might as well take the goat at while she was at it?

It’s like the saying about when you’re a hammer everything looks like a nail. Well, when you’re a gun nut, everything looks like a shooting target. Sick.

She enjoyed the first kill so much that she decided to kill something else. The makings of a serial killer.

Many MAGAs are dog lovers and are horrified by this.

What a psychotic and depraved thing to do. Republican states have worse (weaker) animal cruelty laws. The valuing life anti-abortion thing is such BS. I was an independent for a long time and voted for republicans and democrats but I changed my party affiliation to democrat in 2018 and haven’t looked back. I would still vote for an independent but the Republican Party is the party of insanity. Case in point this Noem POS.

I truly don’t understand Trump voters. Their way of thinking is utterly foreign to me. But even still, I cannot believe the above to be true. Most Americans, of whatever political stripe, surely cannot believe this is a good thing…

MAGA voters will love this. They feed to being cruel to defenseless people and animals.

Remember, Trump’s son shoots endangered animals for sport.

These people are not pinnacles of virtue (or mental health), if you have not noticed.

That is why we probably should not hand them military troops and nuclear weapons to use as they see fit.

Is it common for gun owners to execute a domestic animal if they have a problem with them? I can't believe this would give her "cred" with her target audience or that the publisher didn't suggest she leave this story out of her book.

The publisher is not her campaign advisor.

Look at all of the free publicity this is generating.

This actually does capture the contrast.

Health and normalcy vs her in front of a flag with steely eyes, and likely an AK 47 on her CHRISTmas card.

But she is “strong .” Like bare chested Putin on a stallion.

But MAGA isn’t the issue here. seeing people agree, there is nothing the party can do to turn them off. But they are not enough of a voting bloc to win.

This could turn normal people who don’t follow politics off.

They’re keeping pretty quiet about it.
