A 9 year old does not need to be watched.

I have a one and wouldn’t leave them by themselves in public venue. That’s bananas.

So you wouldn't take your 5 and 9 year old to, say, an indoor trampoline play space as a solo adult because you couldn't be next to them both at the same time? Truly?

He knows where to find me. It is the 5 year old that I need to take her to use bathroom, wash hands and make sure that she is safe.

Rude and bizarre but you do you

What? Not rude at all.
This is what a normal person would do. She doesn’t need to get the host’s permission to take a child to the play place. He isn’t part of the party- and she isn’t making him part of the party. There is zero issue here

A normal person doesn't bring a much older kid to a preschool party and then demand he play alone. Why would a kid want to do that anyway? Have dad pick him up (working from home on a zoom call the entire time? yeah, right!) or send him from the game with a friend.

I'm imagining a place like Get Air or Sky Zone where kids of all ages can have fun. If it's like, a sesame street themed toddler play area then I'd agree with you. But since these kids are 5, and OPs kid has played there before, it's probably fun for all ages. Maybe your kids and my kids are different but my 8 year old can absolutely jump around at a trampoline place by himself... he either bounces and tries the obstacle stuff alone, or finds a similarly aged kid to play with. He wouldn't even be noticed by the 5 year olds birthday party because there would be tons of kids around also not involved in the party.
