They don’t have to be married for the father to be on the birth certificate.

But the child is illegitimate. Not fair to do that to a child.

NP. You are ok with women being beaten by their husbands? Or staying with their husbands if they cheat on them? What if the woman is pregnant with a child that is not her husband’s? There are so many scenarios where this law is really bad. The government should not be in people’s personal lives, they’re often messy!

Divorce is a legal process that severs the legal and financial responsibilities of a marriage. I don’t understand how people here think marriages legally are ended. It’s definitely a government process. Marriage is a government process.

Paul Dans the director of the 2025 project, is a staunch Catholic, who, along with his band of merry MEN, wrote this cruel manifesto of BS, that they want to rule America by.. it’s shocking, but not shocking and should be read by everyone..

Every woman and girl deserves the right to control her own body.

You need to think about the life of your unborn child; it's not just your own body.

BS it's not a child. Learn science.

And for god's sake why should men be making these "rules".

The divorce isn’t finalized until after the birth in order to apply the paternity presumption. Without that, you’d need a paternity test which the father could fight and drag out. This really seems to me like not that big a deal. In Maryland it takes a year of separation anyway so that would get you until the birth.

This.

Why do you need a paternity test if the woman says the father is her ex husband?

It’s an unborn child that needs custody orders and orders of financial support to ensure both parents financially are responsible for the newborn.

Why are people mad that a newborn has custody and financial orders? If the mother is on any benefits provided by the government, we need to ensure the father is paying his share. Men can’t just walk away financially from their child.

It doesn't sever financial responsibilities. I hope you aren't a lawyer!

Because sometimes women become pregnant with a baby that is fathered by another man during marriage. Men should not have to take responsibility for another man’s child.

It creates new financial responsibilities; thus court orders that spell out exactly what those will be.

Wonderful for domestic violence no exceptions

And they are now working on no bank accounts should be owned by women

Vote red as a female brain dead

Can a man finalize divorce if wife is pregnant,?
One step forward for women and we get pushed back a mile! Dollars to doughnuts, it won't belong until they try to take away our right to vote, drive. Sharia law will replace English Common law. May George H.W. Bush rot in Hell for as well the two Democrat US senators Chuck Robb and Dennis De Consini for voting Yes to elevate Thomas to USSC! Don't forget Senate Majority leader, McGovern for being a milquetoast leader for not pulling a McConnell.

More frequently, men impregnate a woman other than their wife and why should his wife have to pay for his bastard with another woman?

We were discussing why this law was enacted. It's supposedly to protect the right of the child once born and ensure that there is a father who will support that child financially.

Make good choices when choosing a husband. Any child conceived with his sperm should be supported financially by him.

All this hair splitting about financial severing and who is the parent, it’s all pointless. The point is to put women under the GOP’s knuckle. It’s meant to limit and constrain women, to put us under control.

The GOP clearly doesn’t think women are entitled to full citizenship.

This law controls men too.

You make it sound like this law applies only to women. Men can't divorce a pregnant woman either!
