It's fine.
You just let the results come in and deal with what you have when you know. They're both in, so that's a win. There is no getting shut out, but there might be sadness if one kid doesn't get into where they hoped to go the most. Don't talk a lot about it unless they want to. Don't do the "reassuring prep" of "it will be fine! You could get shut out, or you should get shut out..." it just projects your anxiety and they see right through it. And do not mention rankings or prestige or anything. Just think of college as a generic brand and be glad your kids are gonna go. |
OP, you sound like a great parent as do lots of the twin parents on this thread. Not a tein parent, but you'll figure this out with compassion and support for both. Good luck to both next year. |
