Nah, just that people who assume Disney people only go there are often wrong. |
If you are spending hours in line you’re doing it wrong. We went this summer and could knock out every ride in magic kingdom before dinner without ever waiting more than 15 minutes for a ride. It takes genie +, knowing the app, knowing the lay-out, and knowing which rides get longer lines (and doing them first thing). It’s not for everyone but it makes the trip so much easier. |
But having to plan everything out like that is not fun (for me). |
Oh come on, Disney is so fun. It's expensive but I am a convert. |
DP here. Never waited in a 90 minute line in my life. You use Genie+, rope drop, or go at closing. FP+ was even better and I’m still salty about that, but not enough to stay away. |
Glorified theme park. |
I mean it’s a theme park. No one is saying it isn’t. |
I know. It's all "Keep the magic going" but I stayed at a Deluxe resort and the rooms weren't as nice as a Quality Inn in Iowa. |
Went once when my child was 8. She hasn’t asked to go back so I’m not bringing it up. She’s a teenager now so I doubt she will. Yay, I’m off the hook!! |
You need to expose your kid to other things. There's a whole world out there. |
Agree |
We went a few years ago and I remember my son saying “why do we need to make an appointment on your phone to ride a ride. It’s an amusement park, not the dentist, it’s supposed to be fun. You’re supposed to take your time and soak it in, walk around, buy some cotton candy if it looks good, and if something looks fun then you ride it?” After waiting in a 35 min line to buy a cotton candy and then wondering around head down and glued to the app, mixed with searching frantically or a charger for dying phone, and then waiting in lines for what were basically mobile VR rides I had to agree. He hasn’t wanted to go back and is really into roller coasters now so last trip had a blast at universal, discovery cove and sea world. |
Universal is nasty. Sea World tortures animals. Disney barely sells cotton candy. So I call troll. |
So many grandparents help pay because they want to see the grandkids experience “the magic of Disney”. |
Was at Universal earlier this week and had a great experience. Not as crowded as Disney and had cool rides and the express passes worked like a charm. Not much waiting around
They're starting to outdo Disney |
