Your recommendations are fine if you don't mind overpaying

You are going to overpay with everyone everywhere.

Not really. We got quotes from reputable builders including most of the you've listed ranging from 215-350 Sq foot. So no, you need to shop around and not just focus on the most well known builders.

Say you paid the $350 a foot on a 6000 sq ft house. That's still $600k profit for the builder.

Typical poor taker who can't be a maker: Why do you put your hand in other people's pockets?

Yup, I've seen many people transition from one career into construction due to the profit potential. Engineers, IT people, etc

This is an architect, not a builder. But he can design your house and help bid it out to builders.

Hello everyone. If you are in the market to build-on-your-lot or a custom home, I would highly recommend checking out Green Building Group (www.GreenBuildingGroup.com). GBG builds the most beautiful contemporary modern homes. GBG specializes in green, eco-friendly, and sustainable construction. I would recommend visiting the model home or contact the sales team at 703.8603100. Thanks.

I would not recommend this builder. Two real estate agents I worked with in Mclean had less than flattering things to say about the owner and it seems he has a reputation. Do you own research.
