Elite Swimming

It probably has to do with where Machine swimmers end up (not just at Princeton) duh

I see one PVS swimmer at Princeton this 23-24 school year- an NCAP girl. I highly doubt they seek out swimmers from Machine, and my swimmer was heavily recruited by them. How many years ago did a Machine swimmer commit?

Ok, I’m seeing the male NCAP swimmer didn’t graduate yet.

Our AAC coaches say the same thing. Machine wasn’t I. The winter classic this year. They would have won it if they had been.

At our club they have a team intrasquad meet and play the video and then had all the parents sign a sheet. That doesn't really seem like training, more like gaming.

Exactly- that is why Safesport is a joke. Maryland swimming has active coaches that I know are creeps. They would text their teenage swimmers at all hours of the night.

The swimmer in this article was a top 8 finisher in all four strokes at Junior Nationals and us on a full ride at IU. Swam at RMSC

There is something about Machine's program that others respect or like. As a club they keep inching up, so perhaps coaches are seeing a club on the rise.

This is a great list.

I will say that the most well-liked RMSC coaches for that level are at KSAC and Germantown. There are great swimmers at Rockville and Olney. There is a wealth of great, young RMSC boys, especially at KSAC. I think the MLK rising 9th grade boys also are really great, but I wouldn't recommend the coach.

KSAC is great but with the pool Renovation scheduled, I may think that will become an issue. I would concur about the MLK coach. My kid liked the Germantown coach alot but not sure about the level of the boys.

True - we are at KSAC for this entire school year (at least) and are being told we will move to downtown Silver Spring during the renovation.

Agreed. KSAC has a great group of elite boys (much, Much better than NCAP at Prep site that is plagued with discontent the last couple of years). But I wouldn’t select it just prior to the renovation nightmare on the Horizon.

NCap Prep definitely has issues but the coaching at AU has been such a problem. We had The Worst coach EVER at AU. So glad my child has moved groups.

The head coach at AU, who coaches the oldest group, is excellent.

OP my son swims for Machine at their Audrey Moore site and while they go to NCSA Junior Nationals instead of Futures (I think they are relatively close to the same level?) the # of kids who have gotten cuts to go to that level of meet has just continued to grow each year and they even had multiple swimmers get summer junior cuts this summer!

I suggest sending an email to Tim Kelly ( tkelly@nationscapitalswimming.com), who is known as a great coach in the swimming world. Let's hope that he will have a spot available for your child at NCAP AU.

Gold 3 was a revolving door of coaches and the kids got zero instruction with many practices cancelled

Silver 1 coached by a fraud and idiot (so we heard from families in the group)

The mismanagement was astounding
