Is 2024 about trans/crime/dei vs abortion and book banning type of issues?

It’s sort of woke blowback annoyance from voters vs their fear of repressive, regressive religiously motivated anti-abortion right wingers. Is that a relatively coherent summation?

Also, I’m sure gun control will play in democrats favor. I’m just trying to ascertain what major issues will motivate voters. For many women it’s abortion. This issue terrifies republicans because it’s so unpopular what they’ve done.

People are getting numb to shootings at this point. I’m hoping there will some kind of over the top crazy type of shooting close to election time, because otherwise I just don’t think they have the impact they used to anymore.

Bruh. You can't be serious. That's horrible.

Wrong. People have absolutely had it with constantly changing their behaviors to avoid getting shot by some wuss with a gun. And they are tired of paying through the nose for cops that can't or won't do anything about it They want to get rid of all these guns.

School shootings, shootings at birthday parties, shooting someone in your driveway (!) - it's relentless. And we have an election coming up.

Oh god I hope you are advising a GOP candidate in a swingy district. Advise them that women are fine with a 15 week abortion ban too.

Tip- don't assume some large bloc of voters agree with you on issues and what issues matter.

Assuming is not needed. We have the midterm elections. Take a look.

Abortion will become an issue if the candidates take extreme positions. For example, I was leaning towards DeSantis and then he went for a 6 week ban. Too far. If he had done a 12 or 14 week ban, it would have been a non-issue. Most voters are like this-- neither want total freedom to about up to kindergarten nor restrictions that effectively ban it in most normal cases.

Ukraine and Taiwan will be an issue, along with positions related to America's waning influence abroad (especially if the dollar continues to fall out of favor).

Border security will be a major issue.

Crime will be a major issue.

Woke issues will become an issue bc people are getting tired of it. But I think the kind of people who will vote on these issues are not swing voters anyway. I'm a swing voter who has had it with woke stuff, but it won't sway my vote either way.

I'm not sure why you think you speak for all swing voters. I'm a swing voter as well and several "woke" issues will absolutely influence how I vote.

I don't speak for all. I'm making predictions the same as other posters. Is there room for more than you to have predictions?

It sounds more like you are universalizing your personal opinions and feelings rather than looking at any data for these “predictions”. The reality is “woke” issues are in the news because it’s generating clicks. it’s something many people care about, even if you don’t.

Well it has to be more than some grumpy old guys and uptight bubble moms in lost cause states to be of any import. The few swing states that actually matter do not appear to be overly distracted by a little click bate over getting out and fighting back over important issues like abortion, guns, healthcare, jobs, inflation, etc.

All this “woke” stuff generates clicks and is fresh meat for the very online people, but regular people do not care about it.

What can you expect from a communist. Literally wants people to die to forward their agenda to disarm the American people. How about we fund guards at schools like we do for airports and other government buildings.

How about you stop being a shill for the gun industry. We don't want this ridiculous proliferation of guns in our lives and communities. Go away and don't come back.

I don’t’ want a proliferation of gang members, criminals and homeless in our lives and communities. If you are going to insist that continues, and try and disarm people, you are begging for a fight

Nothing wrong with battling in over these issues. This is us a free country. You want more guns and I want less. We did discuss and discuss and discuss and eventually go vote and settle it at the ballot box.

The republicans tried to get rid of our system of settling our differences on election day. So far they have failed with their insurrection.
