Not sure if that's true though. My kid's top 20 med program has more kids from State schools than top tier Ivy League schools. Only one data point but still. |
Well you have to look at it in relation to the percentage of applicants. But still a good point. |
This^. Only a small number of applicants attend top 20 undergrad schools, majority of applications come from state schools. |
For example, Rice has total 4,000 undergraduate students, UT Austin has 40,000. Even though both get similar numbers accepted into medical schools, Rice's acceptance rate is much higher than UT because UT sends 10 time more applicants. |
Yeah, that’s not Baylor. |
Any program that's pre-med will be highly competitive. You should add Case Western to the list. It has a guaranteed med school admission program that's hard to get into but worth it. There also are many students who are pre-med who aren't in the special program. Case is next to Cleveland Clinic, so it's a top pre-med and med school. Although it's highly selective, a high stats kid interested in med school might want to look at Brown, which also has a guaranteed med school admission program that is extremely selective. |
Red state schools no Do you not understand how those idiots are going to mess with med school programs? |
Enlighten us |
Right and when this person goes to DO or a Caribbean Med school people will refuse to be treated by him because “he couldn’t get into a US Med school”. |
And your point is… |
