I think this is a pretty popular and commonly held opinion, actually! At least in my circles. |
Please go ask Jeff if I’m a sock puppet. (I’m an NP). If you don’t then GFY. You really can’t handle people disagreeing with you, can you? |
I mean real life, not an unpopular opinions thread on DCUM. Plus, it appears to be one poster frothing at the mouth doing a lot of heavy lifting ![]() |
+100 The media has been compromised. Was it ever fair and impartial, in actuality? |
Too many jello salads in the Midwest. |
you really are the biggest loser, aren't you. You picked one of the biggest tragedies in modern history to be "smart" about. I bet you won't say this to anyone in real life because you know you're wrong but it's easy to be brave behind the keyboard. GFY. |
Yes! Especially US surrogacy with international parents. Which I guess isn't as bad as US parents using surrogates from developing countries. |
Ha! Hilarious to see all the Midwesterners frothing at the mouth about that. And I am a Midwesterner. |
People forget how unpopular Zelensky was. The former TV star has a lot of parallels to Trump. No one is excusing the Russian atrocities, but Zel was vastly underqualified to handle what is going on now.

There are a lot of people in this country either not aware or have memories of a goldfish that heap praise on this man, when a lot of the world didn’t and does not think very highly of him at all. |
It’s all rich people exploiting poor women, whichever direction. |
That although people want diversity at work they really don’t want it in their kids schools |
So what did Jeff say? |
Man, not to go all Kendrick Lamar, but you are really killin the vibe up in here. Should everyone run their unpopular opinions by you before posting them? |
I'm actually terrible at explaining it! But there is a book about it by Devon Price called "Laziness Does Not Exist." I think the basic gist is that fundamentally everyone does wants to work and achieve things, and everything we call laziness is actually a normal response to circumstances like burnout or depression. Plus our society just has sort of toxic ideas about the value of work; we sort of worship business. Something my therapist told me that I thought was fascinating is that maybe up until a few generations ago, people who didn't work because they were physically disabled--like, maybe missing a limb--were called lazy. We have now given those people a pass but we still haven't examined our perceptions of laziness from a psychological perspective. Okay, lastly: sometimes we call and workers "lazy" because they aren't doing something we think they should because of weird societal standards. Like people often fat people who don't go to the gym are lazy, regardless of what else they are doing with their lives. Of course this all depends on how you define lazy, but there is no such thing as "lazy" in the sense that not doing something is a moral flaw. |
OMG this. Although this opinion is starting to get very popular, I think. |
