+1 KTS is phenomenal! |
|
Hello,
I am refreshing this thread to see if there’s anyone with more recent experiences at Ivymount or KTS. We have a 7 year old with a unique genetic translocation (not autistic) doing Floortime based programs and private therapies. It is hard to determine the best next step. A big focus for us is speech and motor planning. Thanks in advance for any insights. |
Most kids that are at Diener don’t need the level of support at KTS. Sure, some do, but most don’t - so the academics are in no way apples to apples. The academics at all these schools are tailored to kids who are several grade levels behind. Because their population is kids who are several grade levels behind. That’s the end of the story. If you want comparable academics it’s just not a thing. My kid is in MCPS right now but we’ve done all the things and may do KTS for high school and MCPS gives him a modified curriculum which is not comparable to the standard one because again - grad levels behind. |
Genetic duplications/deletions/translocations are a dime a dozen. I encourage you to keep all the medical stuff to yourself, including which genes are involved. You don't want educators randomly googling and deciding what your kid is capable of based on a search. |

You may wish to start a fresh new string, pp above from 2026.
