+1 For everyone saying that a realtor gift is ridiculous - you are either a) cheap b) clueless c) realtor or d) ALL |
Nope.. nada.. nothing. no staging, no paint, the house practically sold itself. Which is what I knew would happen, but to get a yeti as a thank you is just sooo cheap and thoughtless. |
We received a 1% rebate on commission and a lovely painting of our new house. 1 million dollar house. |
That's really bad. Sorry that happened to you. With the current downturn in the market, the realtor posting above might want to consider whether or not it's worth alienating clients. |
Have you read any of the above? It's very common for realtors to give thank you gifts. I'm in sales and frequently send thank you gifts to my clients.. and there's always "an agreed upon price". |
+1. I'm so glad that I'm not a realtor. I'd lose my mind. |
2 800k houses, nada. |
They give gifts because it has become common and now expected to the point clients who don’t get one - or even the “right” one - stomp their little feet and threaten to bad mouth the realtor. Yes, I get that it’s marketing but don’t pretend it’s a thank you gift. It’s more like extortion. Babies. |
Wait - they received $60K in commissions and gave OP a tumbler branded with their name?
this is absurd. What a cheapo! |
branded with the realtor's name, not even OP |
Poor, poor OP! |
Well, OP got $2M and is complaining that they don't like their free coffee cup.... |
We've bought and sold $4M of real estate over the past year and a half. We got one gift-a framed drawing of the house we sold. It was actually a pretty nice gift. We got nothing for the other 2 and I don't care one bit. The realtors did a great job with little headaches on my end. I'd rather have that vs. some gift.. |
A $35 branded tumbler is outright insulting. I'm sure OP would rather have received nothing. |
OP here - this is exactly my point. I wasn't expecting anything and would have preferred nothing rather than a tumbler with the realtors name on it. |
