it burns more electricity to keep turing it off and on because of those starup amps the system needs. It's going to cost you more in the long run |
Wow you guys live cold.
I set my heat to 72. And cool to 75 and never touch it ever. It just heats and cools as needed year round. 72 is comfortable in a 3 story. |
72 is way too warm.
I will go to 70 at the highest and that’s only in the early evening. Rather than turning off the system he should just set the thermostat to a lower temperature. Also, he is lucky your pipes haven't burst if he is turning off the system. We've had 30 degree nights. Lower to 68 overnight. Buy your kids some wool blankets and some warm comforters. |
