DH keeps turning off the heat

it burns more electricity to keep turing it off and on because of those starup amps the system needs. It's going to cost you more in the long run

Wow you guys live cold.

I set my heat to 72. And cool to 75 and never touch it ever.
It just heats and cools as needed year round.

72 is comfortable in a 3 story.

72 is way too warm.

I will go to 70 at the highest and that’s only in the early evening. Rather than turning off the system he should just set the thermostat to a lower temperature. Also, he is lucky your pipes haven't burst if he is turning off the system. We've had 30 degree nights.

Lower to 68 overnight. Buy your kids some wool blankets and some warm comforters.

I never turn it above 72 since he always complains so it’s never actually hot in the house. Every time anyone comes over, they talk about how cold it is. He even runs two fans in our room at night and I just do my best to bundle up and not complain. Once again, I wake up to a freezing cold house and coughing children. I check the system and he tuned it off again once we all went to bed. How can I get him to understand and stop doing this? I’m the one having to deal with coughing and irritable children each time he does this. Heck, I’m even coughing myself. Sounds small but I’m irritated.

What are you, a lizard?
