That’s why you buy a house with a private beach. |
No because I have my city house and my beach house. Best of both worlds. When I want to really appreciate them, then I travel overseas. |
I love our house so much! Every time I’ve walked into our house the past 13 years I think about how grateful I am. We have tons of windows and are south-facing so we’re bathed in light all day. It has super high ceilings, beautiful hardwoods, etc. etc. But, I would curl up and cry if I couldn’t travel. I was dreaming yesterday of our trip to Mallorca. Maybe you don’t go to good places?? |
Pretty much this. I enjoy traveling but my own bed is where I get the best sleep. |
My house feels like a real home to me. But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy traveling. On the contrary, I love traveling and I always want to see new cities and explore new things.
Yes, I also sleep best in my bed, but that doesn't stop me from traveling. I can even stand it on an uncomfortable couch for a few days ![]() I have stayed in many vacation rentals where I felt at home very quickly and relaxed from the very first minute. |
Yes! My husband and I have commented about how we have this problem. We live at the beach full-time so we have access to sand and water whenever we want. We do travel but we’re so picky about where we stay because our house (which we built) is perfect. |
The smell of tone-deafness and privilege is going to make me vomit. |
Reviving a three year old thread? |
Ah. No.
My house is okay but very, very small (and we’re sticking with it for at least the next 2-3 years to get on a better path financially). I pretty much despise my town - stuck here due to DH’s job - and really look forward to going literally anywhere else. By the end of travel I do usually look forward to sleeping in my bed. |
Yes I love mine |
I cannot even fathom this question it is so absurd. |
I don’t even love my house all that much but I feel this way if we rent a house in some supposed vacation spot. It’s never as nice as our house, doesn’t have all my stuff, and I feel like the food is usually crappier than what I can make at home or get in a restaurant t around here.
I’m fine with a nice hotel if the beds are decent though. |
Over the years we have made our home into a place that feels vacation like. So staying at home often feels vacation like for me. If traveling wasn’t so expensive, I would do it more but we chose to invest in our home and our outdoor space, so those are some of the trade offs. |
I love my home. It’s beautiful, peaceful and tranquil. But I still love to travel and see different cultures, try different foods and meet different people.
I love coming home. |
