Back to school items

Our not-inexpensive nursery school sent us a list of things to bring th first day. They’re asking us to bring wipes, paper towels, Kleenex, snacks, and bleach wipes. Is this normal? Doesn’t my tuition cover those things?

Not normal in my experience. I have only been asked to bring things in for my child (extra change of clothes mostly).

My dd's preschool which I think is very nice has an annual supplies fee and parents are assigned snacks on a weekly basis. The items you listed are very very helpful and always needed. I am a former pre k teacher. Believe me, classrooms really run through those supplies with runny noses, multiple clean ups etc so your donation will be much appreciated

The things you listed are things to keep your child from getting sick while at preschool so you don’t have to take time off to watch your germ filled rugrat. Stop being ridiculous, and go to the dollar store

Asking for supplemental supplies isn’t unusual & btw your nursery school’s list seems reasonable (unless they’re asking for a case of each). Just wait until your little one gets older That’s when you’ll get hit with fund raisers, auctions, PTA dues as well as a much longer list of back to school supplies

This seems like charging baggage fee for a suitcase. Annoying. The school should just add this as a line item to the tuition bill and do it themselves.

? I didn’t say I wouldn’t buy them, just asking if it’s a normal request. It’s a 3 hour program so DS has to have care for the other hours of the day anyhow.

Nice that you are going to buy them. In my experience it is a typical request. Pretty easy in comparison to my son's back to list.
