How to wrap individual decorated cupcakes for bake sale?

Anonymous
Does anyone have any tips for wrapping individual decorated cupcakes for a bake sale? I can't figure out how to keep the frosting from getting ruined. They will have a little toothpick decoration in the top but it pokes throught the Saran Wrap. Ideas?

They sell individual cupcake boxes at Michaels.

Thanks, PP. Anyone have tricks with plastic wrap or cellophane?

maybe tin foil would work better but then you can't see the cupcake.

Maybe refrigerate or freeze the frosted cupcakes for a little bit to really harden the frosting. Then wrap them individually and keep them in the fridge.

can you put something on the top of the toothpick decoration (or use a different decoration)? A gumdrop or something that won't poke through. I'm sure you can come up with something nicer though.

cellophane bags tied with ribbon?

this is what i would do. you'll probably get more people to buy it because of the nice packaging and it's not as expensive as buying individual boxes:

put the cupcakes individually into clear plastic cups (the kinds that have a wide mouth and are about the height of a cupcake) and wrap in cellophane, then tie with a ribbon. for extra effect, you can put m&ms or other little candies in the bottom of the cup.

Very good idea!

I have a bake sale this weekend and I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to package cupcakes!

The cup idea is a lifesaver. I found the cutest turkey cupcake recipe for my son's preschool Thanksgiving party, but they are meant for the take-home treat. This will be perfect!

Also like the cup idea. Kind of like how McDonalds puts an ice cream cone in a cup to hold it in a cup holder if you get it in the drive thru.

Wegmans packages individual cupcakes in an upside down pint containers (the kind that are also used in the the prepared food section) for potato salad, etc.

I've done this before - folding squares of paper to make a cupcake holder:

Michaels also has "home made" gold stickers - I used them to hold the cookie wrapper together.
