What's up with all the bumped threads?

It's a bit irritating to check new posts only to see 'bump'. I know 'someone' was throwing a tantrum and creating ridiculous topics but there were a lot of them. Same person or merely a coincidence in timing? I'm just curious because I don't remember ever really seeing bumped threads the last couple years.
