sailing on the potomac or in annapolis

trying to plan a surprise birthday event and thought sailing in the bay or on the potomac might be neat. anyone have any recommendations? we dont want to do a dinner cruise. there will be 8-12 of us (including 2 small kids). just for a couple of hours.

You may find “just a couple of hours” really isn’t enough time. You are probably looking at 4 hours, minimum.

Washington Sailing Marina, just south of national airport. That'd be the easiest/closest.

Really? I went on one of their cruises and I didn't know that! I really enjoyed the cruise.

Yes they have two identical boats, Woodwind and Woodwind II. The Woodwind II was in the movie for a couple of minutes.
