Trying to honor a Simon and absolutely in love with both of these names. We tried to use any familial connection to make a decision but DH is French (Simone) and I'm Romanian (Simona) so that didn't go well. Does the -a completes it or unnecessarily frill it? DS is Hugo. |
I've never heard Simona but now I'm in love. |
I like Simone better. |

Simone |
Sounds like a fish |
Clearly, Simone is more popular but I do know a little Simona who is just the cutest thing on earth and is very clearly a Simona, not a Simone. Other than that, I do think it sounds like one is saying Samoa, like the cookie. |
Heh, I thought maybe you were inspired by the Olympic gymnastics champs with these names! |
Simone |
Both pretty, prefer Simone |
Much less the (Romanian) tennis star. |
I like the pretty lyricism of Simona. |

Simone and Simona are both lovely. Flip a coin? |
