ADHD kid getting kicked out of camp

I’m pretty sure my 7 year old boy with a recent ADHD diagnosis will get kicked out of camp. We are one incident away from a dismissal. He is medicated and we are seeking help with a behavior therapist but I am at a loss. Ideas for care in the middle of the summer? I feel anxious and embarrassed and I wish I could help him.

There are tons of camps available. Any maybe some summer helpers still looking for jobs.

Check with Camp Aristotle. When my kid got kicked out of camp a few years ago, they still had spots and she did great there.

There aren't tons of camps for sn kids with behavior issues. Plus some "summer helped" isn't equipped to deal with this either.

Summer reading programs are great to keep kids busy and their brains still in a good school mode, but for fun. Perhaps checking with your local church to see if there are any sports camps running. I know our local Baptist church has something called, Upward Sports that is super inclusive, positive and very open to all kids. The local YMCA is also a GREAT place to check out any mid summer activities and this setting is also very positive and inclusive. You're a great mom, keep up the good work!

I wish I knew how to help you, OP. I had to quit my job. Three years later, things are looking up and my kid is successful in school and camp without extra help. Maturity helped BIG TIME. (Meds too - but a couple extra years will make a huge difference. hang in there)
