Single Daddies

Single moms I am sure I am not the only one out there who'd like to meet great single dads! Where do we go? I sure do not run into them accidentally! I am longing for a fun and innocent date!

Funny, I was just propositioned with, "I got a new job and it has great insurance -- I could cover you and your kids." What has my life come to????

Pleh, I always get hit on by the old guys. I'm 40, not 50! And it's usually standing in line someplace where I can't really get away from his small talk after he's gone and said something awkward.

i was on match for a few months and quite a few single dads contacted me. i didn't end up meeting any of them - more of a time constraint thing than anything else - but a few of them seemed nice and normal. (i'm very picky about location - i spend way too much time commuting to work to want to commute to a date, and a lot of the guys lived kind of far away.) might be worth a try, especially if you can get a 3 months for the price of 1 deal like I did.

LOL! Is it sad that I thought of asking for his number if you weren't interested?

I hate to be a downer, but my experience is that single dads generally don't want to date single moms. They want someone who is unencumbered. Just my experience. Hope you all have better luck

I just loved the story in the Post Sunday a week ago about the single mom and single dad who just got married. He was church shopping and blew off one church because it was all families. Then he started attending a new church where he noticed this single (and I might add she was also older) woman with kids but no wedding ring. Their fiv kids hit it off and blessed the union before she knew he had the ring. A lovely and inspiring story.

There is hope. Just keep at it.

If you think about it, The Brady Bunch was a very progressive show for its time. Single mom, three kids; single dad, three kids. And they had a swank-ass house..... AND a maid! Where are all the Mike Bradys?! :p

This is a funny thread.

I am a single dad w/ sole custody of my 5yr old boy. Found this site looking for help navigating dc school applications. I stiil read it over objections of people helping me -- i am apptly addicted to snark and paranoia. thot I would give the guy's perspective to respond to the person who said SDs dont date wmoen with kids. we do, it's nice to date someone with similar priorities, who gets it, tho to be honest, a mom with 1 kid would be optimal vs someone with a larger brood.
