Is anyone on here familiar with the Century Oak neighborhood in Fairfax? We have 2 young kids, work in the general area, and are looking for somewhere with a good community feel. Are there a lot of families with kids there? I see there is a pool and clubhouse. Are there community events? Do neighbors actually hang out with each other? Thanks! |
No idea!
But...Where I live, neighbors host Easter egg hunt, spring clean up day, July 4 (day before or after) fireworks, and holiday party. We are a small community (less than 20 THs). We have preschool through high school in our neighborhood. We have young parents through grandparents represented in our neighborhood. We have white, black, Asian, Persian, Indian, and Russian represented in our community. There’s a bus stop 1 street over, the metro is 1 mile away, and Tysons Galleria is less than 5 miles away. |
I don't live there. Looked into it, but lots are too small, houses are too close together, almost like townhome community. |
OP here. 20:31 yes I had the same observation. Big houses on small lots are annoyingly common in this area. I might be willing to deal with that if it were a great community where people look out for each other and kids play outside together. It's so hard to get a feel for these things without hearing from someone who lives there. |
