If that is so, then both Robert Pape and Iran have wildly overestimated their position. Israel has been weakened by this "excursion" but it isn't being abandoned.

Yes, I as someone who lives here with family and friends, yes. I'm not hiding in a bunker, but the thought crosses my mind. I fear DJT is making the situation worse and poking the bear over and over and over and Iran might wanna, you know, retaliate. Yep, Iran now knows conclusively that they can shut down Hormuz and use it as a revenue stream. What will they use that revenue for? You guessed it, reviving their nuclear weapons program since that's the only real deterrent for aggression. The IRGC will be more powerful, richer, and anti US and Israel. Thanks Trump!
