Kaileen Galhouse's Photography

Has anyone used Kaileen Galhouse for photographs of their children? Her photographs are beautiful but looking at her website the cost for prints seems much higher than other recommended photographers I researched. If you used her, can you tell me if the cost was worth it? Also, how much did you end up spending in prints and were you able to purchase the digital files? Thanks.

Yes I have used her a couple of times and her photos are absolutely amazing. She specializes in creating wall art or displays of your photos in addition to just providing the photos. She can have them mounted, printed on canvas, etc. She is increasing her price soon, so I am not sure how long before that happens. She does take credit cards or will work out a payment option if you do not have the amount of money right then. The first time we used her we just bought individual photos. This time we went for a package (she is very flexible with subsituting different items within packages) so we could get every photo and make more of a wall centerpiece. I think her cheapest package is close to $800, so it pricey, but I think her photos are worth it. I never thought I would spend that much on photos, but again, I think once you see the quality it is worth it.

That being said, if you check out the archives a lot of other photographers are recommended if the pricing scares you away. Kaileen does have a studio, and you could make an appointment to just go see her stuff and talk about pricing. She is very nice.

Her photos are gorgeous. We've used here, as have several people we know.
Having said that, she is VERY expensive.

OP here--thanks for the feedback. Do you think it is worth it to use her if I was only going to get about $500 worth of prints (a la carte) as opposed to a package. I am tempted to use her and just get less prints. I figure I will only hang a few photos around the house anyway.

I think she is definitely worth it, but just be prepared that once you see the photos, you may end up wanting all of them! You can buy the CD of photos, but it is over $1000, and I don't think that you want to spend that much.
