Xavier

Thoughts on this name? Considering it as a first or middle name for baby. DH is not sold, he thinks it's a little "out there".

Appreciate feedback.

Love it. It was our boy name (didn’t know the sex beforehand and had a girl). People will be confused about pronunciation, though: Zavier or Ex-zavier. (Correct answer: Zavier)

It’s more popular in AA families, and that matters to some people.

Wasn't there a thread/post on this recently? The only concern raised was that people would assume the kid is black.

I don't love it, but it's a fine name.

I’m an elementary teacher and there are two Xaviers in my school. One is white/Hispanic and one is white/Asian.

One of the Michigan basketball players is named Xavier and he’s changed it to Zavier I assume because people were mispronouncing it.

Only if the first name is Francis. Jk, I love the name.

I love it - it’s a classic name that you rarely hear. My five year old has a classmate with the name. When I first heard his name, I thought “what a good choice - it’s unique without being weird.”

Prefer Javier (Ha-vi-ay)

I know two. One Indian/white and one Hispanic.

I have never met a Javier that does not pronounce it Ha-vee-AIR. And I wouldn't use Javier if you're not Hispanic/Latino.

I love it. There's an adorable Xavier in my son's daycare class. He's white, FWIW.

I had no clue. I've only heard the EX avier pronunciation.
