| There’s this strikingly handsome man I see near my office once a week. Always perfectly dressed, effortlessly waspy. He frequently wears both brown and black loafer style (?) shoes, they have a small buckle on the top — I think that’s Gucci, yes? But when I search Gucci online everything seems tacky or way too trendy. Is this style only in the boutique? Want to buy for Father’s Day for husband. |
| I think the ornament buckle is more tasteful than Ferragamo’s. It seems like a Gucci signature? |
| Also the slip on loafers style (?) don’t look Euro flashy, they look super classic and elegant. |
| The gucci horsebit loafer is a classic but was super trendy a few years ago especially with the shearling. I have definitely seen the classic loafers online (for women at least), they run around 750 if I remember correctly. |
| A ton of driving shoes and loafers have a buckle on them. Some are $40 some are $1000. I go for classics like Burno Magli or Bally. |

how is this buckle not tasteful while gucci is? |
| I know the guy, they are gucci loafers. He tall, long legs, good looking. |
|
No. That sounds more like a gangster. Wasps wear wingtips or oxfords for work, not loafers.
|
| Gay men love those loafers with the buckles —especially in suede. No socks preferred. Most heterosexual men wouldn’t be caught dead in them. |
| He is NOT a WASP. |
| I think the horsebit loafer caters to parnevus rather than patricians. |
That was my first thought, too. |
