Let me say that again: Virginia's attorey general will be the person standing up to the federal government.

To paraphrase a certain political figure, Jones could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Ave., and I'd still vote for him. I'm voting for him because I do not trust Miyares or any Republican to stand up for my rights as an American and a Virginian. Miyares isn't going to do anything when Trump attempts to take away birth control or when Trump starts telling Virginia colleges what they can and cannot teach.

The Trump administration doesn't care about the law. They're already looking for ways to break the 2019 law THAT TRUMP HIMSELF SIGNED stating that furloughed employees are due back payment in a shutdown.

I need an attorney general who will protect Virginia, and I trust Jones more than I trust Miyares.

This is the crux.

Miyares has shown us that he won’t stand up for Virginians.

Yeah, and you are completely full of shit and the majority of Virginians will provide proof soon.

Miyares has done nothing when Trump has attacked Virginians.

He won’t do anything when Trump comes up with his next Big Lie.

You are going to vote for an AG who stated he wished to murder the children of his political opponent.
You are scum.

Republicans are totally fine with kids being slaughtered at school so your words are meaningless.

And you are intentionally misrepresenting his words because you are a lying POS MAGA. He doesn't actually want them murdered. He was wondering what it would take to make for the dickhead Gilbert to change his position on gun policy which actually does enable the murder of children.

Jones is an infinitely better option than Trump's buddy Miyares.

Has Miyares fantasized about killing the children of Democratic politicians?

Much worse than any “what would it take” theoretical texts, Miyares wants to put guns into the hands of murderers:

Miyares voted against universal background checks.
https://legacylis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp604.exe?201+vot+HV1967+HB0002=&emci=870c78bb-b334-eb11-9fb4-00155d43b2cd&emdi=7a59dfa5-c634-eb11-9fb4-00155d43b2cd&ceid=2290553

Miyares voted against red flag law:
https://legacylis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp604.exe?201+vot+HV1681+HB0674=&emci=870c78bb-b334-eb11-9fb4-00155d43b2cd&emdi=7a59dfa5-c634-eb11-9fb4-00155d43b2cd&ceid=2290553

Miyares voted against the one-gun-purchase-per-month law:
https://legacylis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp604.exe?201+vot+HV1976+HB0812=&emci=870c78bb-b334-eb11-9fb4-00155d43b2cd&emdi=7a59dfa5-c634-eb11-9fb4-00155d43b2cd&ceid=2290553

And he voted against allowing local governments to define their own gun laws:
https://legacylis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp604.exe?201+vot+HV2161+HB0421=&emci=870c78bb-b334-eb11-9fb4-00155d43b2cd&emdi=7a59dfa5-c634-eb11-9fb4-00155d43b2cd&ceid=2290553

Miyares didn’t send a private text, he has taken public action to enable child murderers.

So, the answer is no. Thanks for the help!

Miyares took action IRL to facilitate gun violence.

Republicans are totally fine with kids being slaughtered at school so all of this “outrage” over some tasteless texts falls flat.

Only one candidate fantasized about killing children.

You are intentionally mischaracterizing it because Republicans are dishonest AF.

We all wonder what it will take for Republicans to take school shootings seriously. Is there anything at all that would convince you?

It was something said in the heat of the moment. Yes, three years is plenty of time to reflect on how he could have phrased that differently.

Not at all. You’re being disingenuous and intentionally obtuse. He was wondering what it would take to stop senseless shootings - if the worst thing happened, would they change their minds - and it’s not that he wanted the worst thing to happen, it’s that he wanted them to change their minds on policy. Sadly, elected Republicans have shown that even when one of their own is shot or killed (from Scalise to Kirk), while they may be outraged, they will do absolutely nothing. They will not change gun laws, they will not increase access to mental health services. Jones, like most people, doesn’t just want to be outraged - he wants the senseless killings to stop. So, he wonders what it will take to make them change their minds - he never gives up hope that minds can be changed. While Jones went to the extreme in his wondering, he has not acted on it. He has neither committed nor enabled any act of violence and doesn’t condone violence. He just wondered.

https://legacylis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp604.exe?201+vot+HV1976+HB0812=&emci=870c78bb-b334-eb11-9fb4-00155d43b2cd&emdi=7a59dfa5-c634-eb11-9fb4-00155d43b2cd&ceid=2290553

And he voted against allowing local governments to define their own gun laws:

Miyares didn’t send a private text, he has taken public action to enable child murderers.

So, the answer is no. Thanks for the help!

Miyares took action IRL to facilitate gun violence.

Republicans are totally fine with kids being slaughtered at school so all of this “outrage” over some tasteless texts falls flat.

Only one candidate fantasized about killing children.

You are intentionally mischaracterizing it because Republicans are dishonest AF.

We all wonder what it will take for Republicans to take school shootings seriously. Is there anything at all that would convince you?

The VA gov debate tonight showed the entire text exchange on the screen. Jones explicitly fantasized about killing children in writing. If you don’t like the word “fantasized” then you can say he “imagined” their deaths. Same meaning.

School shootings are f’d up too. Republicans should take them more seriously.

Both things can be true at the same time.

Many people do wonder what it would take to change Republican’s positions on school shootings.

We want fewer gun deaths, not more.

The position is clear, cops in schools and strong enforcement of existing laws. No guns in the hands of kids, felons, or the mentally ill.

Is three years the limit when looking back now? Do you really really really believe he has had a change of heart over three years?

It was something said in the heat of the moment. Yes, three years is plenty of time to reflect on how he could have phrased that differently.

Thank you. J6 is more than three years in the past. I am sure those people have reflected and changed. Let's stop talking about it.

Then why did Miyares vote against universal background checks when he was in the VA GA?

Why did he vote against a red flag law?

Obviously very different. They took violent action against our government. They were convicted of actual crimes.

Republicans DGAF about “law and order”. Or kids getting shot up at schools.

Uh... no. Especially not when Republicans are actively pardoning the violent attack on the Capitol and firing law enforcement and prosecutors who went after those people. Republicans certainly haven't moved on from January 6, they're actively glorifying it.

So no, you don't get to just move on from it. You're part of that now. You own it.

But isn’t jay in favor of more gun deaths? Isn’t that what his messages insinuated?

Exactly.

I wonder all of the time what life would be like if the ignorant a-hole MAGAs all disappeared. Thanos snapped. Imagine a world where facts, reason, and compassion were valued. But I certainly don’t think they should all be killed.
