Government Shutdown - September, 2025 Editiion

Fed employee here. I’m ok with going without a paycheck for a while so low income Americans can afford healthcare. I really wish Congress would address long term beneficial changes to our failing healthcare system. What’s strange is I have yet to meet a Republican who thinks our healthcare system is affordable and accessible to those who need it.

We are so finished with democrats.

The shutdown should be over by Monday, right?

What is your point here? Josh Hawley looks like a moron and a bully who can't be bothered to inform himself. Mocking indigenous concepts of gender? What is wrong with you?

Why would it be? There's no reason that anything will be different for the vote on Friday than the vote on Tuesday.

I'd imagine we will be shut down for at least two weeks.

I am glad Argentina is getting out tariff money even during shutdown

The real idiots here are Schumer and Jeffries who played right into the GOP’s hands by making healthcare subsidies the hill they chose to die on. Now the WH can run roughshod and lay off thousands of more federal workers as Russ Vought works unopposed to bring his fever dream to fruition. The Dems will look like clueless impotent imbeciles from the sidelines.

The bills for next year are coming due right now. What people will remember is that someone tried to help them, and someone else took the opportunity to hurt even more people and further destroy the economy to protect billionaires. People are willing to pay more to own the libs- but are they willing to pay $12k per year more on healthcare alone?

Priorities, am I right? I have yet to see MAGA justify this or the golden ballroom. Looks very Marie Antoinette.

The Trump administration is toxic. It’s just massive dysfunction. The GOP is unfit to rule.

Vought was doing it anyway with or without a shutdown. He coauthored Project 2025. He’s a f**king monster.

The Democrats look like idiots for not stopping Trump and Vought from doing incredibly idiotic and destructive things?

Uhh, no. Republicans look like even bigger idiots. Nobody over the age of 7 with a brain buys the GOP's "you made us do it!" line.

There is zero reason that Vought should be firing employees during a shutdown. Republicans cannot govern at all.
