You should know that a greedy jealous little man wants $71,000. |
^^^^^ this. |
The previous two posts are perfect examples of people (or perhaps the same person) who either haven't seen the complaint, don't understand what it says or are intentionally trying to mislead people. |
I have read the complaint. It’s not very compelling. It has a bunch of unsupported allegations, many disputed by the club. The biggest allegation is that the Board didn’t approve of the TF contract. The Board presentation at the meeting, vetted by the lawyer, expressly disputes that. The rest are unproven allegations that there were small bore shortcomings in the club’s financial controls. Just the kind of thing a new Board member might be able to fix if they engaged constructively. Nothing particularly bad or large. Typical growing pains as a small club gets bigger. Certainly there’s probably some things that could be made better.
No allegations at all showing anything that warranted the abrupt and destructive actions in early April, or explaining that damaging timing. However, it is true that I think the $71k disgorgement is meant to go back to the club, not to ML, so other than the request for attorneys fees, no one is trying to line their own pockets. Although not surprising non-lawyers might read it otherwise bc it’s not spelled out in plain English. |
Dumpster 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 |
Agree with all of the above. ML should be the one paying the club though. My understanding is he racked up a huge bill with the club's lawyer during the brief time he was on the board digging for all of this evidence to sue RS and the BoD. I don't know what her rate is but probably $400/hr or so.....and they are continuing to have to use her to represent them against his lawsuit now. Also, the TF contract ended in June of this year. Was it really necessary to blow things up instead of just riding it out if anyone on the board didn't support it at this point? |
The board and The Ed have displayed a concerning level of incompetence. It is imperative to remove individuals who are all talk and no action. RS has a tendency to hire individuals who do not surpass his knowledge and questions decisions made by him. The relationship between NM and GFRS was primarily based on financial interests, which raises concerns about conflicts of interest. As a company owner, it is crucial to make decisions that are in the best interest. It is concerning that the board was aware of these issues yet still appointed NM as a TD. It is concerning that the board was aware of these issues yet still appointed NM as a TD. It is important to remain objective and not be swayed by influence. Where there is suspicion, there is usually a reason for concern. The concern should be why the retention was dropped to 71% under the leadership of RS and the board of directors? I am happy that NM made the money which he negotiated and received. As a company owner, you negotiate for highest possible gains to elevate your company and your employees. So Kudos to NM for doing that. However, The leadership has failed his membership. That is clear and simple. Retention of his memebership is the objective in here. |
It is telling that you attribute the 71% retention to happening “under RS’s leadership”when he had been ousted from power by ML’s takeover attempt at the time of tryouts and the release of the initial coaching slate, and only returned after the fact to try to clean up the mess.
The retention issues were the direct result of the chaos caused by ML’s temporary takeover with no plan for a viable coaching slate and the general uncertainty that created. It has nothing to do with “concerns” about the TF contract or RS’s leadership. Just the instability created by the attempted takeover. The return of those TF coaches to the 2025/26 coaching slate is the only reason retention losses weren’t worse. Anyone who can’t see that has no business trying to dictate how a soccer club is run. As PP said, none of the allegations made public warranted this level of disruption or explain the damaging timing of ML’s actions. |
If the retention is determined by past events, then you are correct. I believe that the current organization is lacking in vision and accountability at all levels. Instead of outsourcing, the club should consider hiring coaches and a Technical Director directly. |
Anyone attend the board meeting last night. |
GFR is not falling apart
It is apart, put a fork in em, they are a glorified Rec club at this point. Save your travel money for another club, use this club for what it is, a small local club for rec+ soccer The Brazilian way |
GFR does not pay their referees on time. Months after first half of season games were said to be paid out, my teenager and teens friends have not been paid ANYTHING and they keep not paying past dates when promised.
Then they also say nothing until asked and even now can’t give a date of payment. Would not recommend ever refereeing for this club. |
Revolution also pays late and tries to skim you too. Garbage people all around |
What amazing club does your precious little kiddo play for? Do tell? |
