For all they know, trump has an IVF baby. |
This will be an excellent topic for the debate! Are the conservatives actually trying to lose this election in November? |
The GOP is against contraception, IVF and abortion. Really hard to believe that is going to be a winning policy position for most of the country. Even in swing states. |
The Southern Baptist Convention has voted to oppose IVF. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/06/12/ivf-southern-baptist-convention-evangelical-00162994 |
People need to vote, and encourage others to vote.
We will otherwise end up in a Christian Theocracy. |
And Catholics have always been against birth control and abortion. They both mean squat. No one outside of a religion cares what weird rules they come up with, that is religion is on a slow fade in this country. |
Except that religious extremists have outsized power in the US. They have lied and cheated their way into the SCOTUS to force their religion on the rest of us. The fade is too slow. |
I think it’s abundantly clear that politicians care what weird rules religions come up with. The Southern Baptist Convention was pro-choice until 1980 and look where we are now. |
The southern babtists can believe whatever they want. Catholic teaching is against IVF even if most Catholics pay no mind to that. The danger is the desire to force that on everyone.
Roe protected us all against all this nonsense. No one is forced to try IVF but it is very cruel to make it illegal for the families that need it and want to try to have a family. |
The Catholic Church also opposes IVF and IUI. Because it’s not “natural.” Most Catholics don’t feel that way but think about the composition of the SCOTUS. |
Trump will come up with some whining victim excuse to skip the debate. Just watch. |
The SCOTUS decision has been killing the Republicans at the voting booths for two years. It will again this fall and if they keep pushing down their theocracy with more, it’ll only accelerate. |
It matters a lot because SCOTUS has 6 republican Catholics who are not shy about imposing their religious views on the rest of us. |
