I'm sorry but I'm a different poster and they've been sending out BIC invitations since August. |
You have no idea what you are talking about. |
| Is BIC same as Juniors Open? |
| No, totally different event. |
yes they have done a lot of selections for Best In Class - BIC https://www.1stclasslax.com/best-in-class |
| BIC is rolling selection over many months so selections from applicants roll out over time. There are definitely applicants who have been selected and notified. |

2 totally different events!
Here is juniors open website and application access: https://openserieslacrosse.com/ Here is Best In Class website: https://www.1stclasslax.com/best-in-class |

There is also the player series which is a great recruiting event too with smaller side clinics and they take less people too. I would definitely consider this one if you’re not doing juniors open or best in class because you’ll be directly doing clinics in small groups with the head coaches or assistant coaches of the schools listed.

Also, if you have a player who knows they want D3 this event is really really great to go to in the winter to get on the radar!

Is this better than JO? |

Brothers and Sisters,
Let's demystify this a bit. Seems like some sincere folks trying to catch up on the showcase circuit. Starting with First Class Lacrosse. They run a variety of programs. The marquee event is Best in Class. This is an application/invite event and is staffed by FCL staff. College coaches widely attend the recruiting year event. Rising 9th and 10th graders are not really there for recruiting, but to get used to a top-tier event and get in the pipeline for an invite for their recruiting year. Applications open in August and are on a rolling basis. FCL also has Fall and Winter showcases. These are open registration and players can work directly with college coaches. Good events without quite the same production level as Best in Class, and a greater distribution of talent. FCL also has winter training in several regions, and recently announced the B13 event, which kicked off the consternation over invites and confusion with Best in Class itself. For Best in Class for 2026, realistically, that ship has sailed. Only chance would be a direct engagement from a respected club director or high school coach supported by film. For Best in Class, you really need to apply early with club support and good film, go as a rising 9th or 10th grader, AND do pretty well (formal evaluations) to get into the pipeline. Most early invites this year appear to have been for returners with a high "impact score". That it why, assuming a top showcase actually matters for recruiting (safe assumption), it is short-sighted for clubs like Capital to discourage players going in the non-recruiting year. And what could be better for development than 16 hours of high-tempo drills and games with and against some of the best players in the country...? A two hour evening practice with your teammates? Hardly. Hope that helps. |

Not one of these is really better than the other. They are just different. JO has gotten very large though so it’s harder to get noticed at the really large events so take that into consideration. It’s a good event. Is it better than Player SERIES that’s debatable but player series is smaller. Personally, I would pass on JO and go to player series BIC and The LineUp. I would also do All American over American select. AA is smaller so easier to get noticed plus the filters are closer together, so coaches are able to navigate and get to games easier. The LineUp has several recruiting event which are also small with clinics with the head coaches where your kid will get to interact one on one with the head coach and get a skill session with the head coach of that particular school. They do have a winter session coming up. https://lineuplax.leagueapps.com/camps/4529165-january-3-winter-event |
